Hurricane Sandy dealt a tough blow to the East Coast this Fall. The downtown area of Manhattan was hit hard and suffered incredible damage to housing, retail, and hospitality spaces. We found out, however, that the spirit of the people living and working there would not be dampened. Clark Gaynor Interiors was introduced to the owners of Giardino D’Oro, a storied and well respected restaurant in the heart of the flood damaged Seaport area.
The space was devastated by Sandy’s flood waters, rising from the Hudson and East Rivers, and would need extensive interior renovation to get it up and running. Here is a look at Clark Gaynor’s process of renovating, and the triumphant return of the Downtown Manhattan landmark, Giardino D’Oro, hosted by Erika Wasser Storm for Spaces TV.
